Bergerac Estates is a joint venture Commercial Development Company between RJ McKinney Ltd and Rioja Developments Ltd. The Company specialises in Non Food Retail, Out of Town developments and Factory Outlets in Europe and Eastern Europe.

Rioja Developments Limited

Rioja Development has been specifically set up to work closely with key retailers in the retail development market. The company has undertaken pre-let schemes with selected occupiers and has concentrated its skills procuring sites and adding value to retail development. The company has extensive experience in the non food retail development market, not only in the UK but in Europe.

The company has worked closely with a variety of developers, banks, financial institutions and retailers in working up JV retail and mixed use schemes from inception through to completion.

The directors have been working with B&Q Plc for over 8 years on schemes throughout the UK and have had extensive experience within the wider retail market working with international retailers such as IKEA, B&Q and Tesco. This has involved all stages of the development process from site identification to store opening and the company has a strong development skill base.
The company has close contacts with a number of major funds and banks including: The Prudential, Standard Life, Ulster Bank, Bank of Scotland, ING, Northern Bank, Raiffeisen Bank of Ireland and Anglo Irish Bank.

RJ McKinney Limited

RJ McKinney was formed in 1885 by Robert John (RJ) McKinney in Belfast. Originally a wrought iron producer, the company evolved through structural steel construction, to have 7 building companies in Ireland. During the mid eighties, the Company sold its building companies to their respective directors to concentrate wholly on their commercial development interest in Ireland, Great Britain and Portugal.
